Confined Spaces

Confined space work involves some of the most critical hazards in workplaces and as such, confined space training is a requirement of the confined space regulations (Regulation 632/05). Failure to identify a confined space, properly assess the hazards in these spaces, and create a space-specific plan prior to entry, can have terrible consequences

Confined Space – Awareness (Refresher)

The Confined Space Awareness course is designed to provide students with the knowledge required to understand confined spaces so that work can be successfully planned and carried out safely.  Upon completion, participants will be knowledgeable about confined space requirements under the Occupational Health and Safety Act, and will be able to recognize confined spaces and describe the major hazards, identify controls, and understand the need for an effective rescue plan.

Who should attend?  Facility Managers, Team Leaders, Supervisors and those individuals who will manage third contracted confined space entry operations at their facilities.

Pre-Requisites: None

Confined Space – Access / Egress / Working in Confined Spaces

The Confined Space – Access / Egress and Working in Confined Spaces training course is a multi-dimensional, comprehensive and hands-on, performance based training course that extends well beyond the Confined Space Awareness curriculum. This program meets the training
requirements that allow workers to enter and work in confined spaces as required by OHSA and its regulations. This course will examine all of the things outlined in the Awareness training (above) and will also discuss air monitoring and atmospheric testing, ventilation and fire control and will evaluate and develop current relevant corporate programs and procedures related to confined spaces. Real case scenarios are examined and an in-depth practical session provides all learners with the opportunity to learn about, inspect and use all the required confined space PPE and rescue equipment while replicating work-specific situations in a controlled environment.

Who should attend?  Those individuals who are responsible and/or identified to perform work in or around an identified confined space, such as confined space supervisors, confined space attendants and confined space entrants.
